If you are here for a while you have probably noticed that I have been so absent lately on this blog! and if you read my posts on instagram you may have an idea that I am a master procrastinator! I have been struggling to find the right balance between my personal life, my passion/s and my career! so I end up procrastinating almost everything I can!

Also If you don’t know already am a certified pilates instructor. And am studying to get certified for the next level. and am really having a difficult time balancing out my time and ENERGY! between my personal life, studying ,practicing, and teaching pilates, as well as creating enough, frequent, valuable content for this blog.

and honestly every time I disappear for a long time I start to feel some mixed feelings. I feel guilty for not being committed enough to this blog. I feel I need to come back with something really great because I have been absent for so long. So I start to get anxious and either never complete the things I do or never share it with you because it is not “good enough”. However I know for a fact that working on this blog and creating new patterns makes me so happy, motivated, and in a better mood. It basically sparks the fire in my life!

That’s why today I decided to break the negative thoughts and feelings cycle and share this with you! and tell you that am working on a really cute pattern for a mini summer room makeover. So stay tuned!

Pattern Notes

  • The pattern is written in us terms
  • Chain one is not considered as a stitch through out this pattern
  • Make sure to keep the count of 73 stitches per row through out this pattern
  • I will be referring to cream as color A. beige/candlelight as color B and khaki as color C.
  • I recommend that you use a cotton acrylic blend yarn that is not too stiff. Or any type of cotton sport yarn that has a little bit of elasticity.
  • I recommend that for Color A and B you use colors that don’t have too much contrast so that you don’t have a dark shadow under your base. and if you want to create contrast you can use color C for that. The same way I did with my cushion cover.
  • The front and back pieces may have different measurements. However they both have 73 stitches and 73 rows so make sure to match up the stitches when joining them together with a single crochet seam.
  • I generally like to make my cushion covers a little bit smaller than my actually cushion. especially if the yarn has a little bit of a stretch. So that the pillowcase fits perfectly without any loose areas, pumps or gaps.
  • Here is a video tutorial showing you how to switch colors within one row. I used row 37 from the pattern in the video to show how to use three colors within one row.

Pattern chart:

If you’re crazy about bobble stitches and geometric shapes, you might enjoy hooking up one of these:

Pattern

Front:

With a 3.5 mm hook and color A chain 74.

Although in the first 6 rows and the last 6 rows, You won’t need to change colors. I Recommend that you work your Sc stitches over color B yarn. So that you have consistency in the weight of your whole piece, Since you will do this anyways in the rest of the pattern.

Row 30. Sc across the row, chain 1 and turn

The next few rows you will need to attach color C. I recommend that you don’t work your middle section of bos and mini bos over color C. Since if you did it will give the middle section a shadow and weight that is different from the rest of the piece. So I recommend that you leave it then pick it up again when you need it at the end of the row (as you see in the picture). Also you will have to cut it and re-attach it again every other row.
