Yarn:

Gauge

You don’t need gauge for this project.

Skill level: Beginner

Abbreviations and Glossary (US Terms):

  • ch – chain
  • sc – single crochet
  • ss- slip stitch
  • bo – bobble stitch
  • Inc = 2 sc in one stitch

Special Stitches:

Bobble stitch:

Yarn over, insert hook into the next stitch and pull up a loop. Yarn over, pull through two loops. as if you are doing the first part of a double crochet (DC) (2 loops on the hook);
repeat it until you have 5 HDC on your hook and 1 initial loop (total 6 loops on the hook);
yarn over and pull through all 6 loops (1 loop on the hook – pull pretty tight, so your bobble really pops up); and sc in the next stitch.

Notes:

  • The pattern is written in us terms
  • The bag is made of 3 pieces
  • You need to put a stitch marker at the last stitch of each round to mark the end of the round.

The middle part of the bag:

With a 4 mm hook chain 10
Row 1: Work SC in each chain.
Row 2: Chain one (Chain one is not considered as the first stitch throughout this pattern). SC in the very first stitch and all the remaining stitches
Row 3: Chain one and repeat the previous row at the end of this row your last SC will be in the first SC of the previous row. Not the chain one space.  If You don’t get the previous row. Check this tutorial to get straight edges by the amazing Sewrella.
Row. 4-99 Repeat row 3 (or repeat till you reach 60 cm)

Then  divide the row into halves. as you see in the picture bellow.
Now to work each strand Sc in the first 4 stitches and continue back and forth with sc rows till for 49 total §rows or till you reach 30 cm

Skip the middle stitch and attach the yarn to the next stitch to work the other half in the same way you did the first half

Adding a zipper

Place the zipper and sew it as you see in the picture bellow.

After sewing the zipper you are going to sew the end of your long strap to each other so that you have a circle like the one you see bellow in the picture

now before adding the metal rings to the bag. You are going to single crochet around your metal rings and sew them to the side of the bag as you see in the picture bellow.

I actually sewed them to the bag after assembling the bag parts together. however it was little bit difficult so I suggest you do this now.

As you see you are going to sew it to the middle part leaving one cm past the zipper and sew around leaving a small space so that fit your handle’s hook.

Now its time to assemble the bag

You are going to align the circular edges of the front panel and the middle part together (and the right side of the front panel will be facing you)

Now start joining the edge of the middle part and the front part together using the technique in this video

Finally Repeat on the other side

I hope you liked this pattern. If you made one, share it with me on Instagram. I would love to see how you adapted it and what variations you made 🙂

Take care and happy crocheting.
