Cozy Crochet Cushion – Free Pattern.

Heyy Crochet buddies! today I have another crochet cushion / pillow pattern for you! You may have noticed that I have been obsessed with throw pillows and this saffron color lately! it Adds too much coziness and a very uplifting vibe to the place!

If you have been following me and know about my crochet and DIY room makeover I have to tell you that am almost done with it! I have two or three more patterns to go. Then I will share with you the whole before and after thing!!

If you don’t know about it let me give you some background!

This pattern is part of a bigger project that I have been preparing for a while. I am doing a room makeover on a budget using mainly crochet and some other DIYs!! I am a big believer that our surrounding space affects our mood and productivity levels and I find my self more productive and happy when I have a place that is organized and looks pretty.

Also, my room is the space where I work on my blog, sit down and chill, study, and even workout!! so basically If I don’t have a pilates class to teach or a family commitment I’ll be in my room (coz am an extremely introverted human being and I like it) :D. Hence I always want to add new things to my room, make it prettier and more functional that’s why I have created this room makeover series!!

Throughout this series, you will find cute decorative items as well as some functional/ storage solution items too. So If you are interested to see the rest of the series sign up here and receive all the updates, the free patterns, and tutorials as well as the reveal of the before and after!!

MEASUREMENTS

Approx 14″ x 18″ [35 cm x 46 cm].

GAUGE

18 sc and 20 rows = 4″ [10 cm].

Abbreviations and Glossary (US Terms):

ch – chain
sc – single crochet
ss – slip stitch
bo- bobble stitch
HDC-SLST-BLO –(half double crochet slip stitch back loop only)

Special Stitches and Techniques:

HDC-SLST-BLO –(half double crochet slip stitch back loop only)
Bobble stitch: Watch this tutorial for the method I used to change colors with the bobble stitches

Yarn over, insert hook into the next stitch and pull up a loop. Yarn over, pull through two loops. as if you are doing the first part of a double crochet (DC) (2 loops on the hook);
repeat it until you have 5 HDC on your hook and 1 initial loop (total 6 loops on the hook);
yarn over and pull through all 6 loops (1 loop on the hook – pull pretty tight, so your bobble really pops up); and sc in the next stitch.

Notes:

  • The pattern is written in US terms.
  • The pattern starts from the bottom and ends at the top
  • You will work all stitches in creme except the bobble stitches.
  • You may want to make the pillowcase 0.5 inches smaller than the actual pillow insert. To make sure that your pillowcase fits perfectly without any loose areas, pumps or gaps.
  • You can adjust the dimensions of the pillow by adding or subtracting rows up and down or chains from right and left. but stick to the middle 44 stitches and from row 26-38. Where we alternate between sc and bobble stitches to write the word “cozy”
